The steering on my 1992 Honda 300 4x4 has like a miss in it. The handlebars will move just a bit before the wheels. It also rattles and drives me crazy when I drive it. The tie rod ends(all 4) are good. The handlebars will move straight up and down just a bit too. The bottom nut ion the shaft is as tight as I can get it but it is stil loose. I've noticed a few other 300's with the same problem. Is it the bearing in the steering shaft? Will I have to replace the whle shaft? Please help!!!

There is bushing in the lower end also called a bearing this may be worn. Also check the upper bushing just below the handle bar clamps these dry up quickly just greasing it makes a big difference on my fathers 90 300 4x4. HTH
