Default power to weight ratio

I have decided to improve mine by a targeted 95%. It will cost me about $7000 and is incredibly easy to do. The most unfortunate part is that it involves alienating my DS brethern. Look! Im not getting any younger and before too long I will be religated to Utility/sport class quads (no,thats not a jab at those in that group) due to that "acheing bone syndrome" that plagues me somewhat now. I have the need to traverse the dunes on something that weighs less then 475 lbs.
So there it is! That being said, anybody need to add a (very) clean, stock engine, well maintained, 00 DS650 to their stable? The sooner I unload it the sooner I can start shaving weight.

95%? What quad weighs half of what the DS does with the same power output? lol

I can save you quite a few dollars.....just buy a suspended drag chassis and throw your engine in it and you will be set. Lightweight and power to the ground, Im sure you could have one built that can be duned for about $2500

OK, maybe 95% was a little lofty. It was just a number that came to mind without doing all the math. I guess its more in the 40% range after I do all the bolt-on horsepower mods to the new one. The new breed of quads are more suited to the kind of riding I like to do. I will certainly miss the couch no doubt about that but I won't miss moving it around the garage, trailer or campsite.

This DS is killer. It is the only "stock" DS that ever beet my "stock" DS. I think most of it was rider weight but still those that knew my DS will know what is being said in that this one beat me. You couldnt go wrong with this quad!! Hate to see you get rid of it Jeff.

Thanks for the kind words Todd. That was a great weekend at DS days #1.
Its funny, yesterday the wife reminded me that I have owned the DS longer that I have owned any of my other toys. That has to say something for the DS.

Chirochris,
I'm putting the DS on waivers and recruting a new stallion. I was hoping to wait for the new Suz but according to the dealer, it won't be available till Feb so it may be a new Honda for me.
