What do you guys think would win in a 1/4 mile 1988 cr500 stock or 2003 mustang Gt stock what do the 500 would top out at

 

With stock gearing the mustang would probubly win. If you could gear the 500 higher, it would smoke the mustang. The 500 is good for about 80 mph.

 

i think the mustang regardless. the cr would lose alot of power if it had 1/4 mile gears, unless it isent stock, thats a whole different match.

 

My cousin used to have a CR 500 and he had almost every aftermarket part for it because he raced flattrack and he could to 100 + mph. So i think it could of beat a mustang in a quarter mile.

 

Back in the mid 80's Dirt Bike magazine took a CR500 and put the highest gearing available on it. They put it up against a V4 500 Honda streetbike. The CR500 beat it even though it still ran out of gears because of the sprockets available. Im not positive but I think it was a low 12's time.

 

From the research ive done a mustang gt runs around a 14.2 second quarter at around 95mph a cr500 is just a few mph slower and probobly accelerates much guicker

In a 1/4 mile it depends how the bike and car a running. Stock gt is a pretty fast car i think the cr500 might have it in a quarter mile.. Cr500 is fast. Very fast

 

The CR500 will win with a good rider.......Acceleration of the 500 will get him way ahead before top speed becomes a factor. I'd ditch the knobbies for pavement though......That could get ugly.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img]
