I ride with a couple of honda 450es and find that they have a true limited slip front end and my Kodiak does not.I had them climb the same snow bank as me and watched which wheels would spin ,only one would spin on my Yamaha where both spin on the Hondas everytme.
I would like to know if anyone has tried to modify the stock front end of a Yamaha to increase the amount of traction. There must be something between stock and a locker front end!

Both of you have limited slip front ends. I can't say why the Hondas were spinning two wheels when you were only spinning one. But there are several reasons why that could happen. The clutches in your front end are probably worn more then the Hondas, or the Hondas might have the clutches set alittle tighter then yours are. Or possibly the weight distribution was different enough to cause them to spin both front wheels. Maybe you were actually getting some traction causing one of your wheels to hold while the other one slipped, and the Hondas weren't getting any traction so they were just spinning both wheels. There are a bunch of reasons why that could happen. But your Kodiak does in fact have a clutch pack limited slip front carrier.
