Default Mapsource Topo CD ?

I just got the Mapsource Topo CD's and was wondering if anyone has any helpful tips, hints ect. when using this software. I have a Garmin Vista that I've had for a while now and really want to learn all that this GPS and software has to offer.

stuck I have a Garmin 76CS. I don't have the topo's yet. I do have the city street maps. These maps are bad to the bone!!!!! Even the city maps have about 75% of the trails I ride on. The unit has not saved my life but it helps me make good decisions.
I was on a trail the other day and my it was getting very nasty. I look at the Garmin and told my buddy that it was over five miles to go forward and only two to go back. We went back. Things like that are why I bought the unit.
You will have fun with it.

Default Mapsource Topo CD ?

i got a garmin gps with the computer software when i bought my ford truck in august of 2004. it is a garmin V series and the software is great if i traveled alot and needed exact locations of someones residence. we had to go to a funeral about 5 hours away and i clicked on my gps for that town and my dad accidently turned off early saying that he knew where we were going and the gps didn't. well the gps started beeping calling him a dumbass i think and he said we took a wrong turn and it automatically recalculated for us to get to our destination. he told me then he was gonna trust the gps. heck last summer we were on the lake fishing and we caught a couple of fish in one spot so i maked it and we drifted over that spot for a while and hammered them then when it slowed down i trolled over that spot and we were throwing them back so we could keep fishing. god bless he gps. oh and i still got that spot marked
