Default Prairie 700 Front End Noise??? Help?

I had the Recall done on my 04' Prairie (Twin Peaks). New A-arms steering knuckels ect. The week after we took a weekend riding trip and the front end started squeeking when going over bumps. I took it back to the dealer and they re-lubed it???? It worked for a couple weeks and now it is doing it again. The noise is so loud my friends could hear it on thier quads over my HMF pipe. The quad had 500 miles on it when I took it in for the re-call now it has 570. Please help this is so annoying.

Default Prairie 700 Front End Noise??? Help?

Thanks for the info LC. I am calling the dealer first thing this morning. This is the 3rd time it has been back for the same recall. The first time they used the wrong bolts to hold the calipers and one came off and locked up the front wheel. Need less to say I don't have alot of faith in this dealer. Thanks again.

I have the same issues after the recall...

Can I grease them myself by taking them off and will I have to get it aligned after?

I just hate bringing it to the stealer...

Here is my deal, " the damm thing did'nt make a sound before they did the recall". This dealer does not seem to be the sharpest tool in the shed. I talked to them today and he said he would look at it again. This has all been on his dime. I want it fixed right. I even made them pick it up at my house. I have spent thousands of dollars in this dealer over the past several years and I just want it repaired correctly. I talked to another dealer today and told him of all the problems and he gave me Kaw's consumer number (949)460-5688. I want to take to this other dealer but, I refuse to pay for it. I left a message at Kaw around 11AM and have not heard back from them. I will keep you guys posted.

I've done a lot of those knuckle recalls and by looking at the a-arms, you should be able to install some grease zerks in them. Its definately the a-arm bushings and also possibly the shock bushings. You are SUPPOSED to clean off the bolts that hold the a-arms on. I have noticed they get dirt and other corrosion on them from mud and stuff. Load the bushings with grease and you are good to go. Most dealers, not all, are just in it for the money. They try to get you out as fast as possible without concentrating on quality of their work. We are a smaller dealership so we can concentrate more on quality of work. We have more mechanics than we need really. But that is good cause we can have more than one person workin on a particular machine. Yea it does get done faster but you have one more person to help check to make sure the work is done right.

Default Prairie 700 Front End Noise??? Help?

The saga continues... After four days of calling Kaw and 2 messages (no return call) I got someone on the phone late Friday. The customer service rep. told me that I had to continue to take it back to the same dealer. ( trip number 4) I explained all the problems and that I was concerned about saftey of the ATV. He said that Kaw. was not able to give approval for me to take it to another dealer. I questioned about this being a FACTORY recall??? He said that I would have to keep taking it to the same dealer. I then asked for a manager and he put me into someones voice mail and I left him a message. I will keep you posted...
