Default Need help on kids eton rxl 50

My daughter was riding her eton rxl 50 it was running fine till she shut it off to take a brake for a bit. when she went back out to ride, it would not start. I pulled the plug and it had no fire I put a new plug in and still no fire I tore it down and when I put a meter to the coil I get a reading in reverse if I swap the leads around then I get a reading of a positive. Could some on please give me some Ideas on what could be wrong CDI, Stator ect.

Thanks Ryan

Best thing to do is start with the easy stuff first. Clean the quad then check and clean all electrical connections. Make sure none of the connections have any moisture or any corrosion on them. Once you have done that then you can start to diagnose the other components (IE. coil, sator, CDI).

That was great advice given earlier. I would add one thing to that and that is check the kill switch, the one that has the teather if yours is so equiped. I work on after market quads for extra income and have for about 15 years. I come across this problem alot. Parents wrap up the kill rope and it vibrates loose. May be a cause thats simple, if not start with the what is the simplest and work backwards. Hope this helps!!!
