Default New Quad Taxes

Hopefully someone here can help. I plan on buying a 06 Rubicon and I live in Mississippi. I plan on buying from Tennessee. I was told by the dealer in TN that since I am an out-of-state buyer that I won't have to pay taxes there. Since they don't need to be titled in MS do I have to pay the taxes when I get here or is there a way around that? Has anybody bought a new quad out of state...if so, when did you pay the taxes? I will be paying cash, so I will not need the financing or insurance and you don't need to have a registered quad to ride here.

Thanks!

As long as you don't title the machine...no taxes will have to be paid. I bought my Rancher at the Honda dealer here at Batesville MS and they titled mine.
Just remember...MS law states that it's against the law to drive an untitled vehicle on public roads so if you plan on driving on public roads...I would title it...and carry a copy on the machine. That's what I do and that's just in case I am ever stopped on the short trip I make(2 tenths mile) to get to my riding place.

Plus the title will help you if it's ever(God forbid) stolen.

I'm in New Orleans and plan to buy from Tenn. also.I was told there is a company in delaware called the delaware registry where you can establish an llc and title it with that company.I hear thats how millionaires avoid paying taxes on yatchs and such, but,im unclear how it works on atvs and such.I bought a quad several years back in miss and la. hounded me and penalized me until i had to pay.I thought about paying cash and giving an alias.. Good luck and keep us informed!
