I just recenty bought a 85 200x and it had a smashed stator cover so i found a used one put it on and now there is no spark.

Need help please

 

get ahold of an Ohm meter and Ohm out the wires from the mag to there respected components check close where they go through the stator cover

 

we borrowed a stator form a friend and it has spark but not very much. some kicks it will barely spark and others it wont spark at all

 

Now that you have a spark, you may need a hotter plug, as some of these machines get older they need a little bit hotter plug. Have you checked your magneto too to make sure nothing is wrong with it.

 

i bought a new exciter coil and it still dosent have spark,

if the wheeler had been sitting a while alot of the wiring of gotten corroded
and needs cleaning check first the coil wires, and then i had the stator wires
break on me once and would start and then die cause wire break apart

buy a new one - dennis kirk has them for 75.00
ricky stater sells them 2 i believe but there alot higher
