It's Alive!
#1
My uncle bought an '85 ATC110 brand new for my aunt and she rode it until they had kids (early 90's) and then parked it in the back of the garage...until last weekend.
Me and my cousin pulled it out intending to get it running again, and having to drop some cash on it to do so. After airing up the dry rotted tires and pushing it out into the open, we drained the old gas and put some new in. Turned the choke on, and after 3 or 4 pulls it started right up. It wouldn't idle (with the choke on or off) but would stay running as long as you kept feathering the throttle. We ran it through the field to my house (almost 3 miles) and back a couple times, and it didn't stall at all.
Kudos to Honda! I never would have thought a bike that was parked over 10 years ago would start right up on the first try, but they proved me wrong. This weekend I am changing the oil, rebuilding the carb (with the Moose M.U.D kit) and replacing the spark plug so hopefully I can get it running good again. After this I'll spend some money on the ATC70 to get that running again (needs a coil and carb) then my cousin also has a Yamaha Tri-Zinger that was running last summer but mysteriously died one day.
