Well, after swollowing alot of sand at GLAMIS, the speed is alive again.
New piston, sleeve, and rings. No explanation as to how the sand got into the cooling system, tranny and sanding the cyclinder but it's up again.
I've tunn it three times in the back yard just slowly letting it come up to temp. I've than shut it off for a cool down. I feel that this will assist in the break-in allowing for a couple of thermal cycles before I ride it for the loaded cycles. After the rides of course the fluids will be changed.
I also have the new cyclinder cover due to excessive corrosion behind the water pump.
Next weekend let the riding begin.
Also putting my new parts on should have pictures of the whole thing again.

Oh yes, I will be going back to GLAMIS. I just have to find the time and I'm there. I will be taking it easy for the next couple of rides out just to ensure that it stays toghter, but after that. IT'S ON.
Let me know about your planned trip and I'll gather some additional riders.
