I think since the 450's came out the 250R is overated, but before then I think most of the hype was backed up by it's performance. Even tho the 250R is showing it's age compered to the newer quads, it has always had great geometry and a solid motor. If it went thru a few years of refinements I believe it would be competitive again, for a 2-stroke anyways.


As for the Predator, it depends on what type of riding it is being used for. For MX I don't think it is underated at all, it is just simply to heavy and that is the biggest thing I have against it since I like to be able to throw a quad around. For recreational or even GNCC purposes I think it might be a little underated, and most of that is because it is simply made by Polaris. Polaris has a big following, but that is mainly in Utes, so when sport quad "shootouts" or whatever comes up, the jap quads get mentioned more than the Preds. Personally, I can't stand the first year Preds, but IMO they have came a LONG way and are a good quad now as long as it is off the MX track. My only big complaint about it is that it needs a diet.
