Default Race Mod Spark Plug gapping?

I was wondering what a BR9ES should be gapped at for the Race Mod 400's with the stock ignition?
Thanks!

unless it's on alky I would run the B8EG or B8EGV, or even the BR8EIX. They cost more but they have a finer tip and it takes less current to fire it.

BR8ES at .018 to .020,
hotter plug make more power in those fuji motors and burn more
efficient.
fine tip spark plug is for very close to perfect jetting conditions, but
i havn't seen any gains using them.

I use a BR9ES because Darrell from HPD told me that is the plug I should run with the race mod.

Holly crap, you are supposed to gap your spark plugs ! Gap at .018

What plug do you run with Alcohol with all the race mods?

After the $300.00+ ignition mod you can gap to .025

I may be wrong here, but I don't think that a finer tip requires less current to fire. A closer gap requires less voltage, but not a finer tip. Generally a finer tip is made with a material that doesn't wear as quickly, thus keeping the gap within specs for a longer period of time.

BUBBA knows,
Just one of those things we all learn on this forum.

Put your normal spark plug connected to spark plug wire in your hand and crank over engine, feel the bite. Now try the fine wire plug and feel the bite. You can test the spark plug of your choice many times at different gaps to determine the best bite (ZAP) for the buck.
