i have had the engine fully rebuilt my a engineer and i starts then stops on the button and wont run again the only way to get it to run is pull it behind a car and it will run then
tried everthing like
carbs cleaned
mixture screws
filter
new plug
new cdi
new stator pac
new 1 way bearing
new coil
new start/stop button
checked timing and all good

please help raptor experts in usa

When you press the starter button...what happens? Nothing, no sounds at all? Or, Itll spin the motor over, but it just wont start?

 

yes mate it spins over but thats about it and when you take the plug out getting plenty of juice and a good spark

 

Hows the valve clearance?

 

i beleive your valve clearance is to tight, and you should loosen them up.

 

the valve clearances were set to the yamaha seiint manual so i would guess they were right

 

so maybe your guy messed up(it happens) i advise you to take the tank of and check them yourselves. its very easy.

 

If youve taken the spark plug out, and visually checked for spark while cranking the starter....and you see spark, that only leaves compression or fuel as the cause. First thing to check is the valve clearance.

 

if it is not valves then i would recomend cheching the fuel system, from the fuel petcock on the tank all the way to after the carbs.
