Used Quad
#1
Hi I'm looking to buy a used Raptor 700 or Raptor 660. I prefer the year be no lower then 2003. My opinion
is that most (not all) high preformance/racing quads have the crap driven out of them. What would be some precautions I should take when looking to buy one, and is there anyway you can tell mechanically if its been driven hard, or not looked after properly.Would it be better to buy through a dealership or buy from a private seller?. I have had cases where freinds have bought used and have payed tons of money on repairs an what not, so i don't want to blow around $6000 (CDN) to have a quad break down on me.So if you could help me in any way that would be great.
Thanks a lot for your time.

My suggestion would be take one of you're friends with you to look at one. My couisin bought an 04 raptor for 3500 bucks from a dealer. It is all decked out, to many mods to list, you can tell if a machine looks by its condition. Unless you tear the engine apart no way of knowing rather its good or not. A sh!tty looking wheeler could run forever, and one that's good looking could blow up. Thats part of buying a used machine, you're always taking a chance. More often than not a machine that looks abused was in fact abused. I wouldnt buy a raptor older than an 04, but thats just me. Good luck in you're purchuse.
