Default 03 sp500 HO, Where's the spark plug???

I am a complete DS. Looking to replace the old spark plug on a new-to-me 2003 Sportsman 500 HO and I can't find the spark plug. I know it's got to be on top of the engine, but unsure of what approach route. Do I take off the front rack and the front cover, take out the air filter assembly, or try and come in from one of the sides by taking the panels off?

I even went out and bought the service manual (PN 9918065), but it doesn't say inside how to go about accessing the sparky.

Thanks in Advance.

Paul

It is on top of the motor. Take off the right side panel and look on top. You will see the bright red spark plug boot, pull it off and use the socket from your tool kit to get it out, its wayy down in there btw!

MaineMudder3 is right "Use the tool that came in your tool kit" with that tool it's not to bad to change.

Its good to see your someone working to on the ATV to keep it running good and not just say "I have have a bad pos ATV"

By the way pscott...glad to have you here!
