Hey guys I was just wondering if you could put racing gas in a rancher? Would it make a difference? Would it do any damage to the quad?

 

You could put race fuel in it, but it would not give you any power gains. I wouldn't recommend race fuel unless you have a highly modified motor.

With race gas being more volatile & burning hotter, wouldn't you run the risk of burning a hole in your piston?

 

Race gas actually burns cooler than high octane. The reason is because there are no impurities in race fuel. I agree with the above with you should run race fuel only if your running 11:1 or higher for any power gains. The only difference is going to be in your wallet on a stock engine. Paying more for nothing!

 

First try 92 or 93 gas and this is all that you will need. You might notice a small gain in power. The quad was built to run on 87. The way gas might go if Gore get's in might be what race gas cost's now.

 

make sure it isnt leaded, honda claims leaded fuel will hurt the coating on the vavles. Otherwise its fine, but everyones right that 87 octaine will give the same power. You get best performance right before slight spark knock.

 

I guess the main difference would be "that sweet smell" from the exhaust. Don't waste the coin.
