man the knowledge you can get here/ the facts/ the true lies/ the arguments, all and all its in good fun/ i dont write much cause i wanted to learn/ i am about ready to purchase a redcat X-200, i am about 150lbs and 5feet 9 in/ my other hobby is rving/ i have a 38ft trailer, my budget for an atv is about $1700 - 1800.00/ all the research i have done, i like the X-200,
and RACEWAY is about 20 miles from my home/ i guess i will finaly meet john/ feel like i know him already/ i think these chinese quads are pretty much decent for the price/ you here all the stories, but more good than bad/ you need to dealer with a good dealer/ and raceway seems to be upfront/ so thanks guys/ i will update

velram2001,

Take some time and visit some of the other forums. Look at the posts and see what those guys have to say about their quads. Like Honda, Suzuki, Polaris or any other forum. You would probably be better of with a used quad. Some where in the lines of a Honda TRX 250. If you look hard enough you can find them at a good price. You are going to pay $1700 to $1800 for the Chinese quad and I have seen the TRX 250 from $2250 on up. Not that big of a price difference. And I guarantee it will last longer and take more abuse than any Chinese quad. Now others may respond with other types of quads for you to look at. You are even going to get the guys that swear by their Chinese quads. Now I'm not talking about the mini here. You are going to get what you pay for. Another thing to take into consideration is how you ride. If your are a timid rider than maybe get the Chinese quad, if your are an aggressive rider do not buy the Chinese quad it won't last. Now this is just my opinion and I'm sure that there are some guys here who tell you the same thing. Before you take that step maybe go look at a few used quads before you buy the VX200. You may just have a change of heart and buy the used quad.

Good advise! I own a Redcat VX-200 and a KMZ 150. They are decent quads for their intended use and the VX-200 may suit you well for the campgrounds. If you are an aggressive rider, the Honda will be a better bet for longevity. Also, if you plan on upgrading in a few years the Honda will be a better re-sell than the Redcat. There are also more aftermarket parts available for the name brand quads. I guess it all depends on your riding habits and mechanical abilities. When I was looking to buy a couple atv's all the used ones in my area were pretty beat up. I took a gamble and have been pleased with the Redcat atv's for what I use them for. John is one of the better Redcat dealers out there (although I am 'still waiting for my title), he will back up any issue that may arrise. Best of luck.

whats the speed on this unit/ i understand its liquid cooled, what do you use water or antifreeze/ the trail that i will be riding is about 6-8 miles, over at upstate new york/
are these bikes timed by hours or miles/ sorry for the silly questions, but i want to cover all the angles, when its time to purchase the bike i just want to make sure everything is covered,
did you assemble your unit, if you did was it difficult

Velram, the vx-200 will do about 40-45 mph, I haven't clocked it but that is about what it is rated for. There is some assembly required, however one thing to remember, with a crate unit purchase you are the dealer and the atv needs to be gone thru thoroughly such as a dealer would before the sale. All of mine were crate purchases and required carburetor disassembling and cleaning, one required engine valve adjustments pretty much right out of the box and another had issues with the primary clutch rubbing the belt housing. A walk in the park if you have been doing mechanic work since you were eight, but a nightmare if a person can only change oil. It would be my recommendation if you have a strong mechanical aptitude you should have no problems assembling the unit and working out the bugs. If you are not mechanically inclined and are close enough to John's dealership, have him and his staff do the assemble. Do a search for the vx-200. I did a review and so did a couple other people. Best of luck.

I would use a 50/50mix of anti freeze/distilled water.

You can keep track of either.

There are no silly questions just silly mistakes.

Like Propertymaint says, if you buy one of these in the crate. You are the dealer. Why dont you just buy it assembled from John?
