End Cap with or without baffle???
#1
Just received a new Billet End Cap off EBAY. NOT HPR end cap.
In the instructions, they give you 2 ways to set it up. Can remove the baffle or not remove it. Just wondering if anyone has this end cap and which way you run it?
HPR stated that they have not seen this end cap before and they say the design is flat on one side and the exhaust would "Hit a Wall".......
Just wondering which way would be better?
Thanks,
PS--It really looks sweet.

If you dont keep the perferated screen in the canister and wraped with instulation its gonna be loud as hell! From all that ive read keeping the packing between the screen and the canister is VERY important to the perfomance of the motor. I have the On Dunes end cap as you know, which is just about identical to the HPR end cap, both of which are tapered on the inside of the end cap to maximize flow. Well see which is better come prez weekend! Joking aside, keep the screen and buy some more packing before the install.

Thanks Ryan. My filter should be here soon, was shipping out this morning from RockyMountain, so it'll get here quick. Busy this weekend, but can we setup the Install and Tuning next Saturday???
I'll pick up some extra packing, jets and beer

I just visited HPR yesterday and ask Bo the same question you are asking. He hasn't seen the Billet end cap that is selling on ebay. I described it to him and he explained that the two are different but even thought the Billet is flat it is still much better than the stock end cap. He said to leave the packing and baffle in. The tappered design that they sell is the best way to go for the best performace but he said the Billet will provide a great deal of improvement over stock. The stock is way to restricted and the 2 1/4" opening on the Billet will let the engine breath much better. Their dyno showed that by changing the end cap on the stock pipe the performance was better than any aftermarket exhaust that they placed on it, I thought that was very impressive. They also had a drag pipe for it that he put on and it provided the best performance overall. It was all aluminum, tappered small from the connection to the about 3" at the end and then a bit smaller at the cap. No packing, baffles, or anything. I was curious about the way it will sound and how loud it would be. He only had one there and it belong to a customer, he put it on a 650 in the shop and the idle sound was a deep and low rumble (sounded great) then he revved up to about 4000 rpm and it sounded like a machine gun (very loud though).
All in all his machine shop that supplies him with the HPR end cap is way behind and they are not sure when they are going to get any. So without any more delay I purchased the Billet off ebay yesterday.

Keep the baffle in...it is needed to direct the gasses out of the pipe.
