tire diameter
#1
I am after a little general information on tire diameter. I have already received quite a bit of valuable information from this forum and hope to get some more. I suspect the tires on our Rubicons will need replacing in a short time. With 4 psi pressure the diameter is approx 25" (25x10x12). A friend just installed a new set of Mudlites on his Rubicon and with the same pressure they are about 3/4" less in diameter. It would seem that to maintain the present gearing which I find ideal (or perhaps go a little higher which would be fine) I would need to go to a 26" tire or perhaps to the XT or the XTR in order to maintain the diameter. A friends 25" Dirt Devils measure almost 26" so perhaps that would be an option also. Has anyone done any actual measuring of diameters or perhaps is aware of charts which list the information? Quite often advertised numbers are only close at best........Thanks.........Tass.
