A/C 90 carburetor problem. Help!
#1
We bought my son an Arctic Cat 90 2 stroke in 2000/2001. I took it back to the dealer while still under warranty for carb problems (stalling) and they fixed it. Now 5 years later he has outgrown it, but I am keeping it for his younger sister. I ocasionally ride it just for kicks...........
The 90 starts fine, runs fine, idles fine, and has good power/speed. Only problem is when pitched into a tight corner at speed there is no throttle coming out of the corner. It just falls flat.
After idling for about 10-15 seconds it will continue as before. But if I try to move before that the motor falls flat or dies.
Thanx for any help you may provide.................

My boys started doing the same thing last weekend (05 90 4-stroke). Falls flat like it ran out of gas then it would clear up and go. Checked the fuel and it was low (1"-2") in bottom of the tank but still enough. After tearing through everything i finally decided today to fill the tank and sure enough he had no problems riding hard today. I guess when they get low on gas is sloshes and starves it of fuel. Guess the pick up is pretty high in the tanks? Adding fuel worked for his?

Yeah, I'm up on the whole "tank must be full" thing.... I don't think that's the problem but I'll check it out next time we go riding........... Thanks for the input, I appreciate your time.

I take it that the tank must be full thing has been an issue with others? Never heard of it but it does sound like your problem is fuel related like it is starving for fuel. Not sure???

Well, when I took it back the first time, they tweaked the carb a bit (not sure what they did... Idle-air screw I think....) I was told that part of the problem was that the tank wasn't full. I said, "Hey there's still 2 inches of fuel in the tank!". They said it wasn't enough. As far as I'm concerned, if I can see gas in the tank it should run right.......... Again, I'll have to check it out next run...... Thanks again!

Yep same issue here but you are right, if I see gas it should be running!
I did have to take mine back and they had to drill out the carb (which is supposed to be a known problem with them) because it just would not start but once it FINALLY started it would run. Once they drilled it out he has had no issues with it firing right up as soon as you hit the starter, no matter how long it sits.
