There is a 300ex for sale where i live! It is a 93 and has a DGRCM pipe mud sharks with fast trackers duralube rearend bearing carrier o-ring chain new front cog K and N air filter and full-face helmet It is sale for 2000 o.b.o
Although it needs a new piston is this a good deal hopw much would a honda dealer charge toi put a new piston in

 

sounds like a good deal as long as thats all it needs. you should just go buy a repair manual and a piston kit and try to do it yourself

 

i sold my 94 for 2,000

and it had more stuff than that.

Personally i'd try to get it for less.

Motors are sneaky. Yeah all it needs is a top end, then it could need valves and everything else.

 

DG, you sold yours for too little, stop raining on everyones parade just because you gave in to a horrible price.

 

in perfect beautiful condition that ATV is worth 2500. And i figure it is far from that. Probably has bad front end bearings..shaky steering(maybe not, never seen too many without)

In the real world a 93 300ex with a bad piston isn't going to go for 2,000. I don't care, i'd never buy it. Seems to me it has had the ***** ran off of it! Or someone has ran to little oil in and seized at one time! Or had it jetted lean..or it has leaky valves. I don't know what they mean by bad piston..does it smoke? or even run?

I had a 91 250x and it has never had a top end rebuild, never smoked a bit. So that should tell you something. Its all in how you care for your stuff.

And you think i gave a bad price? Hmm....i didn't lose on it, i only paid 1,800 for it! you can go by what kbb says but they are very high on their prices.


My advice to you. PASS, if you really want a 300ex, go look at dealers for left over(or trade in) 2000s and 1999s. I picked up my 2000 300ex for 3,500 OTD. It had 10 hours on it plus a set of Ceet Graphics.
