Default Bent shift forks, Clutch slipping, any ideas???

I had to copy and paste this because it was getting no action under the other title. Maybe nobody really knows but I don't think that's the case.

C'mon guys, help me out here. The problem I had a couple of months ago has returned.
Thanks go out to BigDaddy and Vegas for the parts, in a hurry and at an affordable cost.

Since I replaced the clutch plates and the springs due to what we thought was the clutch slipping I have made a couple of trips each to Dumont and Glamis. The problem I was having at Glamis is still there. Doesn't duplicate itself at Dumont, well, maybe once or twice, but often at Glamis.
Here's the deal, going from third to fourth, the transmission doesn't seem to click (lock) into gear. Does the same thing on ocassion from fourth to fifth. Every once in awhile the shift lever sticks and will not allow me to shift down. Pretty often, while in neutral I start to hear some rolling and the bike will drop into gear. When I replaced the plates, the ones I put in didn't look much different than the ones I took out so I'm thinking they were not the problem.

So, having said all of that, SHIFT FORKS???

Not popping out, just won't go in sometimes, like missing a shift but I'm going through the whole motion and paying particular attention to it as to ensure I am going up all the way. With my size 15 it's not too hard to get the lever all the way up. Not sticking on the case either, first thing I checked when it started happening awhile back. I wish it was that simple.

Is the sand at Glamis really that much different that it would put so much more of a load on the forks? Or is that even how it would work?

Am I to assume that all three forks need replaced and just order all at once? From the looks of the links I pulled up this may take a little longer than the 30 minutes the clutch replacement took! I'm open to any and all input at this point in time. What causes this problem? I use the clutch everytime I shift, no speed shifting. What about "popping" the clutch?

Anything else I need to order besides forks and the case gasket? Head gasket?

Check ou Mudnuri's thread called "splitting the cases" he had some links about the exact procedure. I think he was replacing the shift forks as well. Good luck.

Are you sure you clutch is adjusted correctley? Unless you are totally confident about doing the forks yourself, I wouldnt. Send the lower end to someone to have it done. I just went through a tear down and had to split the cases. I sent it off to CG Performance. Chuck split the cases and did a full inspection of the lowerend including tearing apart the oil pump for about $300.00. I still think your problem is tranny related which is still going to require you to split it. I would replace the head gasket. While your in there have you thought about some other mods seeings how you will have it apart anyway. ie piston, cams ect?

Yes, the clutch is adjusted correctly. No, the shift lever is not sticking on the case. Yes, I'm looking at a little power addition while I've got it all ripped apart.
I've replaced the set of plates and gone to heavier springs. Still having the exact same problem as before I replaced everything.

Anybody that has already done a shift fork replacemant have a suggestion on a parts supplier? Looking on BikeBandit and ParkerYamaha I'm well over the $300 range. Does this sound about right???

Thanks so far.

Are the BMW tranny parts the same? I know they are cheaper. Ace I wish I could help you out more but this out of my knowledge. Eagles website has the info for replacing.

Just take your time and tripple check yourself Vic. Trust me, it's a lot harder to pull the motor from the quad than it is to R&R the tranny. Do you still have my number? If so let me know when ya need something.
