Cost of 700 Subframe
#1
I broke my rear subframe last weekend in Glamis and promptly ordered a new one at a cost of $340.96.
Just thought id be the first on the board to brake a subframe on such a new bike.

It happened because the tie down strap that was holding the cooler on the 6 pack rack wrapped around the axle, therby torquing and breaking the sub frame.
Its true that i could have made my own subframe, as i am a welder\fabricator. Its not cost or time effective. The sub frame is made light so as to be the first part to break in the frame. If i made one out of mild steel, or 4130 tubing, it would instead bend and or break the middle alluminum frame on this bike, which the motor bolts too. So to replace that part of the frame is much more time pulling the motor and swing arm ect........then its far more expensive as well.
