metal shavings?
#1
I changed my front and rear differential oil today, just to switch it to synthetic, and i noticed a small amount of very fine metal shavings on the magnetic tip of the drain plug in the front and rear. I have 500 miles on it, and was wondering if finding a small amount is normal or not. It is a 06 650V2.

Yes, the fill plug is an 11/16, and the drain plug is a small screw into the side of the bottom of the case. If you have an owners manual it illustrates it. You will need a long flexible funnel, and the manual doesnt specify how much oil to put back in, so just fill it about 1/2 inch below the fill hole. You can visually guess this amount by looking into the hole. Its about 10 ounces

the best way to judge how full it is, is by taking a piece of wire and benging it so you can stick it in the hole to check the fluid level. and well i supposed i should check mine lol 1700 hard miles and never checked or changed but i am looking at trading it off anyone interested in buying it???
