ive got a 99 blaster, and it leaks oil from somewhere around where the chain is on the engine, its not from the drain plug or anything, and ium just wondering if there is a crack in the block somewhere what can be done to fix it? can i patch it with some sort of thing or do you need to get a new block or what??

most of the time cracked engine cases can be welded, or even use JB weld to repair it

alright...a few ppl have said jb weld it, so ima try and find that leak and try it, i just hope its not too late cuz i rode it home about 3 miles from where i was riding yesterday, and all the way home i heard grinding, thinking it was just the clutch, lil did i know it was the engine out of oil...i put oil in it today and it started in 2 kicks in 30 degree weather, so i know the engine isnt shot...or could it be close?

The oil in the blaster's engine is mainly there to keep the transmission lubricated, the oil that you put in the reservoir or premix is what keeps the top end lubricated. You could have damaged the transmission if it was out of oil, but there's really not much you can do except wait and see what happens, or tear it down and check it. I'd just ride it and see what happens.
