Default 440 big bore?

With a 440 kit with 12:1 compression do you have to run a high octane gas than 93?

If you've got 12:1 compression yes! Around here you can get 100 octane for about 10 bux a gallon.

What about 11:1 compression can you still run 93 octane with that.

I know a guy that's runnin 11:1 compression in his raptor and he's using 100 octane but I'll check with him and see if 93 will work.

I had a 99 440ex with 11:1 compression and i ran 93. With the new 06 450r it has 12:1 compression and in the manual it tells you to run 91 or higher. so even with the 12:1 you can run 91 or higher. i wouldn't be spending 10 bucks a gallon when you can run 93.
