1997 Polaris Xplorer 500 2004 Sportsman tranny?
Is it possible to retrofit a 1997 Polaris Xplorer 500 to accept a 2004 Polaris Sportsman 500 transmission? Looks like there are two transmissions for the 2004 and I could get the one that is computer driven (Part No. 240162) cheap. I see that there is no manual gear shifter it is computer driven. Can anybody tell me if it's even possible to do this? What parts might I have to be looking at if I want to do it?
