The title asks the question I was looking at the Big Gun. Are there better ones out there?

I have heard good things about the Big Gun, however I haven't actually heard a big gun. I have heard an HMF utility and they really make the V-twin roar. I have also heard good things about the Supertrapp and Muzzy. It is all preference. Do some research you should be able to find sound clips for some of them. If Noise is a concern The Big gun is supposedly is just a little louder than stock. The HMF with quiet core is also just a little louder than stock with a throaty edge. The slip-ons are much more economical than the full system, and I personally don't think you will benefit by spending $200 extra for a full system unless you have done extensive internal modifications.

From my experience Big Gun fall apart the rivets fall out of the Aluminum housing. FMF and HMF will give the best performance on the lower end. They produce more torque down low but fall off drasticly above 7500 rpm. SuperTrapp are very quiet almost that of stock they have a good low end torque curve with higher rpm hp produce power passed 9500 rpm. SuperTRapp, HMF, FMF meet on a torque curve at about 5000 rpm stay the same then Super will climb higher than the others.

HMF are good well proven pipes and I am a big fan on the Procircut complete system. The Procircut is what I have put on all the prairies I have and had. I like the sound of the Procircut pipe the best but the HMF is pretty similar.
