how long should oil last
#1
I have a warrior and just got it bak from the shop and it got new gaskets and rings and seals and i rode it saturday for like 2 hours then on sunday i rode it for about 5 hours of some kinda hard fast riding and i looked at the oil and it was kinda greyish black. I was wondering if this is cause a leak or a clog or something of that sort.

Shouldnt look like that after just 7 hours of riding. I change mine about every month or so really depends on how much i ride. I usually ride about every weekend and my oil is no where near looking like that. But.. better to change it and blow the money on oil/filter then not change ti and have fun rebuilding better safe then sorry.

Does the motor seem to run pretty good? Was the oil changed after the rebuild?
When you have new rings installed, the rings and bore have to wear into eachother. This could account for some of the greyish color. The motor will also run hotter when its being broken-in.
Another problem could be blow-by. If the shop put new rings in without checking to see if the bore too big or out-of-round, blow-by could be cooking your crankcase oil. This can also cause oil to be forced out of your crankcase breather. Engine oil in your airbox can be a good sign of blow-by (unless you have fliped the quad over).
I would change the oil and see what it looks like in 10 hours of riding.
