Default 2004 Honda 450ES 4wd drive light blinks 6 times

Can anyone help me. I just bought this used and now the 4wd light is starting to blink. It blinks 6 times in a row and then pauses. Usually doesn't start blinking until it is warmed up a bit. Today I was riding in 3rd and it didn't go on unitl I went into 4th. Anything I can try? What do I replace? Otherwise it runs and sounds great.

Thanks

There are 2 speed sensor on the front diff, one measures the speed going into it and one measures the speed of the wheels. I am a tech but cann't rember what a code 6 is, I am sure it's a speed sensor.
On the right side front wheel look up by the frame and see if you see a gray or brown 3 wire connector, unplugg that and see if that fixes it. Otherwise have to go into the shop.

Thanks for the reply, Doesn't sound like to big of a deal.

What does a speed sensor do? If I disconnect it am I going to cause another issue? Do you think it is a faulty sensor? Can I reset it?

Thanks again,

Dave

there are 2 on there so that you cann't blow up the part that locks it in. I have disconnected that one before to bypass one of the speed sensors to see if the 4x4 will work.
The sensor tell the ecm how fast you are going and the speed meter on the dash
