trouble starting when its cold outside

Ive got an 01 ds stock motor with add ons and when it gets below 40 degrees I might as well not even try to start it. when its warm it takes a few cranks and sometimes I have to hook up the battery to the charger to give it more power. What could be the problem?

Thats what Ive been thinking whats wrong but wasnt for sure. I traded a scrambler for it about a year ago and the guy who owned it before me said he rode it quite a bit and I go riding about every month. nobody has ever been inside the motor that i know of so im sure they have never been adjusted.

I'd have them looked at. Good chance they need to be adjusted. Its about $140 around here, I've heard that price is a little high but thats what its going for here in SD. Good luck

I live in wisconsin, where the temp gets below 10 to 20 degrees. I just pull the chock and it starts right up. I would check the plugs and then the carb, to see if it need cleaning.
