Default Where to buy a tach?

Any know where the best place is to buy a factory tach? Need a couple of them. Are they pretty easy to install?

Default Where to buy a tach?

Had been looking for one myself but I wasn't going to pay the $230-280 that was listed everywhere. Just happened to talk to BigDaddy this morning and he hooked me up with a name and number that I called and got the tach and the support ring for $150. Of course the dash was $12 but not quite the deal killer.
Not sure if the mods would appreciate me posting competition info here so jet me a PM and I'll lead you to the promised land.
In case anybody else is looking for a fascia, the best $ I had found after much research was $89, these guys have them for $43. Heck, I took two for that price!

Thanks Mike (BD311), I owe you a bottle of that 190 PGA.

Ace do you know what needs to be done to hook up the tach on a standard DS? I assume you have to get into the wiring harness. I have been thinking about a tach but I am a little leary about digging into the wiring harness. I assume its only one wire for RPM an one for power. Have you attempted the install yet?

Parkeryamaha.com $134.95. I just installed mine about a month ago. Mine came with directions and you do not need any additional harness. The longest part was making a hole in my dash, I didn't have the correct hole saw size. Install is not difficult, if I can do it anyone can!!

Parker had quoted me around $200 for the tach and retaining ring, ProShopMM had the complete kit for $150.

FatHolly, I haven't recieved the parts yet so I haven't torn into it, but I know there are a couple of spare plugs under the dash. Assuming one is for the Baja lights and the other for the tach. Don't quote me on that yet but as soon as the parts arrive I will update.

Somebody with way too much time on their hands and link posting skills should make a thread for who has what for the best prices and service. I'm speaking of OEM replacement parts. I've been using Parker Yamaha for a few years after I got disgruntled with Chaparral and Temecula Motorsports charging your firstborn for everything.
