Default Need new clutch? What type is best?

I'm having a problem that just started on the last ride. When in high gear at half to full throttle the engine continues to rev up but the bike's speed stays the same, acting like the clutch is slipping. It takes off fine and you can grab all the throttle you want through the gears but in high at about half to full throttle it starts slipping. It's a 2001 DS650 and I bought it new in 01 and I change the oil after every four or five rides and I don't use synthetic oil. I have average miles on it used primarily on fireroads in the Northeast. If it is a bad clutch package, what would you recommend as a good and reliable replacement? Once I noticed the slipping I loaded it up and have not rode since, possibly saving the stock setup. Still better to replace or just new springs? Any and all help to get back riding would be greatly appreciated. Also, is there a billet endcap to replace the stock one on a stock muffler? Mine has a very small split right in the middle. Thanks again.

Barnett with 60% Ron Woods springs. You could get away with a stock clutch with the springs, but if you need a new one anyway, my opinion is why not upgrade a little. You can get it all at ondunes.com.

I am prolly the only one on here that has had any problems with the barnetts. My first go around with the barnetts was a couple years ago. I bought mine from Alba as a kit. It came with the steels, fibers and some suposedly heavy duty springs. Well, it only lasted about 1 1/2 days and the clutches were fried. So I went back to the oem clutch pack with woods 60% stiffer springs. All was great again. But as time went on and everyone else seemed to be having good luck with the barnetts and heavy duty springs I decided to try it again. This time with I through away the barnett springs and used my RWR springs. Worked great. Except unless you were rolling you wer not going to shift. No biggy. However here is my latest experience with the hard hitting barnetts

As you can see from the pics. My clutch basket was taking some perty hard slams. Most likely because of the combination of heavy duty springs and the barnett fibers. My sled is an 01 so the years of abuse may have just cought up to her. I am going to run my RWR springs with the OEM clutch package and see how she hooks for now. My barnetts lasted about one season so that was perty good. Just not the end result.
I say unless your sled is modified and your into drag racing. Stick with the OEM package and a set of Pami, TVI or RWR springs.

I put in the barnetts 9 disk and rode all of last weekend. Hooks up really well. So well in fact I was having trouble launching. Hopefully my clutch basket doesnt end up like the Eagles. Then again the eagle is known to run the S outta his bike.
