Default Giovanni 49.9 cc ATV .. HELP!

Just received a new Giovanni ATV 49.9, got it all together, started it up ran great for about 5 minutes and then quit running. It did not come with oil in it, I put my own in (10W40). Will restart after sitting for about 15 to 20 minutes, runs good for about 2 to 5 minutes and stops running again. Seems to have good spark output. Not able to figure out why it stops running after a few minutes. If anyone else has any suggestions please let me know... looking for solutions, I am out of them. I have even pulled apart the carb, and cleaned it out, did not help.

Looking forward to your responses...

Thanks!

Default Giovanni 49.9 cc ATV .. HELP!

Richard,

The most common problem with these quads is the gas cap vent does not vent. If it runs for a few minutes then dies unscrew the gas cap and I bet it will start. The cap will not vent so it causes a vacuum in the tank. Or just let it run without the cap and see if it stays running. Good luck!

Agree with 2manytoys, if that doesn't work pull the carb and leave it in a jar of gas for a day or so, the gel pack will do this apperantly if it doesn't break down correctly. I'm suprized with the no oil in the crankcase, you could be headed for greif if there is any rust in the tranny.
