Default Av Gas vs Race fuel??

with the price jumping, if your running 12 to 1 or higher compression, would av gas be a good choice??? I used to run it in my 350X with no troubles.

I'm not sure enough to comment on the compression part, But I used Texaco Blue (111 octane) In a pulling truck for a few years with no problems and State record results.

What is the price of Race gas? And av gas?

I can buy 100 octane at a 76/Phillips station for around $4.75 a gallon. I mix it 2 gals to 3 gals with 92 to keep my 2 strokes from pinging.

As long as the octane is there, then you wont have any damage issues. However, AV gas does burn slower - This may affect performance.

AV Gas has an additive to keep it from burning fast - so we call can get out of flaming planes faster. Aircraft engines dont need to rev up quickly - so, this does not affect thier performance. However, we do need to rev quickly - at least some of us.

Alright, that is enough info for me....Stick with the race fuels....I am getting ready to raise my compression, so this is going to get harsh...
