Leak down test for 1992 LT250R- RE: Power Valve
#1
I have recently bored my super clean LT250R one over. It seems to smoke much more then it used to. I have tried changing jets, but still smokes. I have been told that it might be a leak somewhere and I would need to run a "leak down test". I have researched this, and found that most shops won’t even work on my bike because it’s so old. So, the next best option is to do it myself. I found a site that teaches me how to build my own tester for about $60. (Much better then buying one for $200) However, there is a lot of talk about the power valve throwing off the accuracy of the leak test.....
If I pressurize the whole case, how will I know if the leak is at the power valve or the case??
