hello,

I have just purched a 2001 Raptor 660 for $2400. It has a very clean frame and has not used very much. It has some plastis mods life the feet nurf bars and custom paint job and some other small things but no engine modifications. I heard a clunking noise when i tryed to start It, It even did not engage once. I have read on the internet the problem is a Starter One-way Bearing witch i can get the compleat kit for $200. I am willing to put this in it if this is it but i have hear the 2001 Transimitions have a problem and 2nd gear will break. My question is will this gear blow out for sure or is it if you start not in nutral and put modifications on the quad. I want to know this because im not going to put Starter One-way Bearing in it and sell it fast and try and get my money out of it if I am going to have problems with the transmition. These raptors sound like they have alot of problems and there not worth my time. My other question is i raced my brothers 400EX witch has a pipe, K&N and has ben jeted and i barly beat him. I would think these 660 should fly past a 400 cc 4 weeler. Could the one way bearing be affecting speed or is ot somthing elce or is it all this four weeler has to offer? thank you for hellping out
