bf 750, smoking bad?..why?

a friend of mine has a brute force 750, we was riding the other day,and i was riding behind him up this big hill climb, well as we got close to the top, he got on it real hard!!...and when he did smoked just poured form the exhaust, i mean it covered the fourwheelier up, when we got to the top he said he noticed it sputterin, on the way up, and ......we checked the oil, and everythang, we have no clue what it might be....maybe and intake seal??....thanks for any repls....ooh, and yeah, he said he might have smeeled some gas on the oil dipstick...w

My BF750 did that too. I think it's sucking oil into the carb through the breather. I wrecked mine pretty good but once I get it fixed back up I'm gonna try running with a little less oil. I keep it filled all the way to the "full" mark on the stick usually, gonna try it about halfway down the "acceptable" range. I know on a Harley if it's a "puker" you can drain put about 1/2 quart and it will quit "puking" and still be in the good range on the stick.

thanks for all the replys!!!....im sure it will help my friend out alot, i mean , he was scared to death he had tore somtin up good, but i got him calmed down enough to tell him notin was wrong, i figured that was what it would be, to much oil......but, anyway thanks for the help...
