Default sportaman 90 low compression

found low compression on my neighbors 2000 sp 90 today 30 psi dry 60 with oil just wondering if anyone has a new piston ,jug rebored etc at a atv shop and what it would cost . thinking about trying to buy it from him for my son but i know what its worth. what happened is he tryed to rebuild the carb after it had sat for 2 years and ran it on carb cleaner until he tosted the engine trying to get it to run. he also burnt up the starter.

.

As a suggestion, give Billy Holt at http://www.wrhracing.net/contact_us a call. One can replace with stock cylinder block, stock piston and stock rings. For ease of install, puchase an upper block kit. Thus, all parts are matched and pre-fitted. If looking at pure stock, you may want to investigate a 53mm kit. Thus, more CCs, more compression and the end result is more "bottom end" power. Especially if you plan to keep the mini for a few years. Or, you have more then normal riding conditions.

Note: Fresh pure stock is 120 PSI. Normal is between 85-110 (average at 100). Our 53mm kit from WRH Racing is at 147 (150 fresh) PSI.

Hope this helps...
