2005 400 4x4 warn winch install info

Yes another install question for the winch! I did not see any asked for my machine and since I get to keep from my early stated divorce (good job mr $200 an hour lawyer) I have an 05 400 4x4 man. I gave all my hard earned money to my ex and my lawyer and can now afford to buy winch but will need to save on the install charges. I am a 2 level handyman on a scale of 10. What are the basics for an install? the electric is what is scary for me....any suggestions or good how to websites you can offer?

I bought a venom winch off of ebay for $99 plus shipping. I had it on in about in less than 2 hours. You will have to drill under the seat to put the module. I'm a 1 on the handyman scale but it is not rocket sceince. Also you will get the mounting plate for the ac and the roller fairlesd with the venom kit. Good luck

The Warn kit from AC comes with the mounting plate, roller fair lead and all wires, nuts & bolts, relays, fuses, switches, mounting pieces and great instructions. Admittedly I only paid $69 when I bought it when I bought my 400 but it would have been worth it at full price. For my 2001 250 I bought a Harbor Freight $50 2000# winch, then the AC mount plate and roll fairlead and used some switches, wire and solenoids I had laying around to make everything work. I spent more time figuring out where to put everything and routing wires than I did installing the whole Warn on my 400. The cheapy winch works fine and for the 250 is a great addition, but the Warn works better and was a lot easier to install because I didn't have to think, just follow instructions. The old KISS! principle, You know "Keep It Simple Stupid!".
