Let me give you some background info. I have a beartracker 2000 2wd 250. It blew a gasket and started to leak oil, i took it to the shop and and they fixed it. But they found a load of sand in the engine, two bags worth. I don't know how this happened and everyone i talked to said that the only way this could have happened is if someone poured it into my oil. My bike sounded and ran fine untill i noticed it was leaking oil. Now it's blowing out tons of white smoke and it never did this untill it came out of the shop. At first when i got it the motor sounded real clanky like metal against metal, but now it sounds fine. What could the problem be? Thanks in advance.

 

if it is liquid cooled, than you definitly have a head gasket leak which is leaking coolant into the engine.
coolant and oil dont mix, and will take out bearings.

 

it's air cooled not liquid cooled

From the description, your engine is done. Something got fubared on the rebuild.
Take it back to the shop that did the rebuild and have a talk with them.
