just look at my sig my 300 will outrun many 400's some that are slighty modded
i would highly reccomend the WB exhaust it has lots of torque. and sprokets help alot as well
i just got my 700 so i have done nothing to it so far

Definately exhaust and air filter, then mod the air box lid,or get a Outerwears cover to let more air in, 20 low profile tires make a world of difference, but you will need to put a 14 tooth front sprocket on to keep from hitting the low rev limit, or better yet, invest in a modded cdi with a higher limit so you can rev out in each gear better. To be honest, weewane, I don't know who you are racing, but a 300ex with only a pipe and filter is not going to beat any 400's, my son's 300ex runs great, has the rev box, filter, pipe, and better suspension, and he can't even stay with the top end on my Wolverine, I go just under 60, top end, about 57-59, and once I get ahead of him,he stays behind. Unless you gear for top end, but that will mean you need a lot more power for down low pull. 400ex a arms and shocks up front will make it handle a lot better, and a good aftermarket shock in the rear will help a lot too.
