I was in the market for a new quad, how much have you guys been hearing them go for. Also is the 2006 faster then the 06 yfz450

 

I got my 06 450r back in march for $6580 out the door. I haven't raced an yfz yet, but one of the guys i ride with has an 06 yfz and he says he doesn't wanna race me. but racing all depends on the rider.

 

According to a few magazines who ran some test it has about 5 more hp than the YFZ. I just bought one for $6135 out the door.Thats not with tax. It's a great bike and everyone always compares there's to it so it must be good. It's a Honda, it's fast right out the box. But when you uncork it on both ends like adding a pipe and opening up the air flow and rejet it will pull your shoulders out of socket!!!How much is your dealer asking for it. My local honda dealer would not go below $6800 so I went down the road 30 min. and got it for $6135.

 

No, the TRX 450 is not faster than the YFZ, ive ridding both, drag raced against a TRX with full exhaust and K&N air filter, rejetted, vs my 04 SE YFZ completely stock and he couldnt even come close in a drag race, and on the track it only became worse...You get what you pay for, and Yam's have almost always dominated Hondas...

 

Let's not get this started please. The Honda does not have 5 more horse than the Yamaha and the Yam won't destroy the Honda stock, they are neck and neck stock. Don't worry about which ones faster stock. Either way you go, you should be happy. If you mod one or the other you will be faster, good luck on your decision. And by the way, "out the door" is assumed to be tax and everything.

Then just mod what you get and you will be faster than what you didn't get for sure. They are both close stock, it you put a put and cam, for instance, on either you will be far ahead of the other. It's that simple.

thats like saying ur stock corvette outran a twin turbo'ed supra, its just not gonna happen
