Default Slight "twitch" in steering on Outy 800

Put my first 100 miles on this thing as of today. fantastic bike. However, a couple things that I need some info. on:
1. at speeds over 35 I feel a twitch in the steering...what is it, tire pressure? balance? what could it be? Next, after a lengthy ride, say 25 miles or so, I shut the machine off and there is this strange sound coming out of the back of the bike...kind of like a hot tea kettle that is whistling...eventually it went away. Anyone out there with an answer. All in all...this bike has made riding a anticipated joy again. Just looking for a couple of answers. Thanks.

The twitch is a tire that is out of balance or out of round. Make sure your tires are seated on the beads. If they are, it might be out of round. Jack up the front and spin the tires with your hand and check them for run-out. If the tire seems to be running smooth across the tread surface ( run-out) then it is a balance issue. You can get them balanced but the issue you are dealing with is usually only noticed at high speed and on pavement or smooth hard pack. Both of mine have it but I am running bigger tires.

Hope this helps.

could have set on the dealers floor with the tires underinflated causing a flat spot on the tires I agree jack it up and roll it around and it will reveal itself if they are out of round. If that is the problem then check for proper inflation set it in the sun to get the tires hot and give it a long ride and if the belts did not settle in flat they should round out just fine.
