well you can pop the clutch thats one easy way to do it.. try rolling in first gear sit as far back on the seat as you can then pin the throttle that should do it too

So stay in first to hold the wheelie or try to shift to second?

All you can do is practice. No amount of reading will make you an expert. Sad but true. There are several ways to do a wheelie. 2 strokes are generally harder to wheelie and balance because its almost either all power or no power.

If you are just starting to learn. Go 1/2 throttle in 1st, stand up and try to pull up and hit the gas. Do what you feel safe doing. Try this in second also, standing up on the pegs. Once you are more comfortable with being on 2 wheels, try sitting down in 1st/ 2nd and while going slow gas it, lean as far back as you can, and pull up. Dont let off the gas too soon. Practice finding the balace point (you may want to practice on soft terrair because if you really want to find the ballance point you are going to end up on your butt a few times ). Also, another thing that can help find the balance point it putting one or two feet on the grab bar and doing wheelies this way. You may feel more comfortable with this and its easier to bail. Maybe not.

Thats about all I can really say. Just remember, there are (basically) two types of wheelies, power wheelies and balance wheelies.

i have a blaster and they do rev high but if you put it in 3rd gear, sit all the way back on the seat and give it throttle, it should come up quite easy. 2nd gear might be easier but it will rev high so you wont be able to ride the wheelie near as far.

Not necessarily. If you learn how to ride a balance wheelie there is no limit as to how far you can go. Your right it is easier to ride a longer wheelie in 3rd. But that would be a power wheelie. The higher the gear the further you can ride a power wheelie, usually. And thats if you can get it up in every gear. A blaster is pretty hard to get up in 4th. At least for me, being 135lbs and all. 2nd gear on a blaster is great for learning the balance point.

The goal is to get the front end up as high off the ground as possible (without going over of course) and using as little throttle and rpm limit as possible. Once you get ballaced out in 2nd gear at say 4500-6000rpm's you have quite a few more rpm's to play around with the keep balanced before you have to shift. And the higher you get the front end off the ground the further you will go doing this.

How modded mine is, in 2nd I just sit back and gun it while pulling up and it comes right up. Second same thing, but with a slip of the clutch. 4th I stand on the grab and pop the clutch but its kinda scray since I am doing like a wheelie at about like 40 mph. LMAO. THe key is practice. And on a stock blaster, Learn in 2nd, then just sit and hold wheelie's in 3rd. I can hold them for about as long as I want. But whats really fun is riding on 2 wheels (same side) then turning the wheels straight and gunning it in 2nd and pulling a wheelie then shifting to 3rd and holding them. Really hard but looks awesome on film. Or if you are really good like a friend of mine with like a 45 hp. blaster pulling wheelies as u pass cars. He did it. Look so cool, hard. But if u lost it u'r dead. And it was funny when he got a ticket since he did it passed a group and one was a unmarked po-po. LOL

blasters being the light and small atv they are makes them a great first wheelie quad IMO. when I got mine i could barely wheelie in 3rd but now i can do them in any gear shift threw gears up ANd down and hold it basically as long as i want. practice makes perfect!

just went for a quick ride, and found out that in 3rd if I lean back and gun it its comes right up. 5th I cant pull them up. By the way I did this on the street. In fourth I can pop the clutch while standing and pull them up. I can wheelie from 4 to 6th. But I only did that once since it scared the cr@p out of me, and I almost lost it. LMAO.
