Default Metal shavings in Oil Filter?

I changed the oil filter last night on my YZ 426 and noticed I had some metal shavings that had been stopped by the oil filter. I've never noticed shavings like this before. Seemed like there was quite a bit, enough to cover the end of my finger when I was cleaning it out. The motor runs great, doesn't smoke a bit, starts on the first kick. Is this really bad? Has anyone ever seen this before on theirs? All of the other filters I've changed have been the spin on type, this is the first one I changed that you can actually see the filter itself. This is the first time I changed the oil since buying this bike used last year. I sure hope I didn't get suckered by the last owner that knew something was up with the motor. I guess I'll just change it after my next ride and see if theres anymore on the filter. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks DennisC

Does that yz have 2 oil compartments?

I don't think it does so that means it's luburcating those wet clutches too, I would bet the metal shavings are coming from your clutches and that would be normal.
