Broke yet another Blaster top a-arm !!
#1
Are these things really this week or what? We have not done anything unusual to them, no wrecks, no hitting anything, just typical riding. He has done some small jumps but nothing I would consider big enough to cause harm. The front wheels are turned around and we do have Banshee shocks on the front, set as light as possible, and my son only weighs 80lbs. But 2 in one week?
I don't want to drop a boat load of cash on aftermarket a-arms, but what are a good brand that will not cripple my wallet?

My son rides on a MX track with some good size jumps and weve had no front A arm problems, its got the stock blaster shocks on the front(with the front wheels turned around). he weighs 160 pounds. Try the stock shocks.

The problem with the 300 is, it dooesn't have any vin numbers. The frame is not the stock frame, and I was told that to have vin numbers, they would have to be transfered from the origanal one. No big deal really since they are all basicly the same anyways.
In my searching over the last week, I have found this to be a problem in the past, with Blasters. As much as he rides, I was told there was no way that it would hold up. He really isn't getting that big of air, just alot of small air, over and over and over again.
I don't really see how it could be the shocks. The Banshee shocks are softer in the first couple of inches of travel than the stock ones. They ride sooooo much better for him than the stockers. (they were really stiff and let the front bounce around alot) I hate to go back to the stockers because of that.
Last night we welded up the broken a-arm so we can still ride, but I am really considering some ASR +3, +1's. Also, a good friend has a Banshee rear axle he will sell me for a great price. I just have to convice my wife now. I figure 400 bucks spent on a-arms would be better than 4000 in the ER!! We'll see though.
