well raced a yfz today

beat me 3 of 5 runs..the other 2 where to close to tell....

he should be faster..right?

i have an endcap and filter, stock jetting...

he has cam,cdi,full pipe and something done to carb...

what am i asking here.....if we were both stock, the yfz should win..yes

 

I think him being lighter he should get you out of the hole. But the DS has enough grunt to get things moving and catch to have pretty close race. The top end should be the same unless gearing has changed. It really is more of rider against rider then anything.

A mildly built DS is say around 53 horse, a well built YFZ say about the same and also 125 lighter but does not have the torque so really is anyones race.

When I had My 450R There where some DS I would beat and some that would beat me. I would get them all off the line and then they woudl catch me on the big end.

 

the races were very short....he was just dyno'ed at 39 hp to rear wheels
