Default BF750 Tie Rod Issues - Stuck Twice!!

I got my BF750 last September. This is my first utility atv. After about 60 miles of riding I bent the tie rod and got stuck miles into a trail. After some research, I found out that they were a problem and I bought the Diamond G setup before the recall. After another 100 miles, I get stuck again after the tie rod end bolt sheared off at the steering shaft.

I am planning on taking it in for the recall now, but do you think that the parts Kawi uses will be as strong as the Diamond G setup? Are these machines just not durable? I never had one problem with my 400ex!

Thanks for the input

You should have taken it in the first time and had the recall done then got the Diamond G Tie Rod Ends. There were more issues that the recall covered than just tie rods so you only fixed one problem the first time. After you get teh recall work done put the D-Gs back on and you should be good to go.

flip1950. I got my '05 BF 750 in late January and it had already had the tie rods replaced from the Kawi recall before I even picked it up. I just had it upnorth for 4 days and put on about 160 miles and got home and noticed my right side tie rod was bent. I just ordered the Diamond G tie rods and tie rod ends. As far as I know they just replaced the tie rods and ends for the recall. It sounds like you should get the Diamond G tie rods ends to complete your upgrade.

in the tierod recall they will also put rubber stoppers on the bottom of the steering stem, all they really do is cut down on your turning radius. i got the diamond g rods and ends before the recall came out. mine wrnt bent but the ends were getting sloppy. my dealer said to keep the diamond g ones on because they were better than the recall replacements. i was also running 27"s so that had a little something to do with it. flip, you said you have a 400ex? the rods and ends from the 400ex are exactly the same. so if you can also find a great replacement for the 400ex they will also work on the brute as well.

demerick....I had purchased the whole setup from Diamond G including the tie rods and ends. I am baffled as to why the tie rod end bolt sheared off like it did. On my OE rods, the rod had bent and caused the ball joint to seperate. On the diamond Gs the bolt at the steering shaft end just sheared off. I had less than 100 miles on the diamond Gs. I am running OE size mudlites on ITP c series wheels.

Now I have a complex about getting stuck again!

That does suck. I would contact Diamond G Racing and tell them what happened. I have read that others have had some issues with the Diamond G's and they replaced them for free. Supposed to be a "top of the line" product, so they should back it. I hope I have better luck with mine when I get the Diamond G's.....
